Supansha Development Foundation (SDF) is committed to promoting sustainable livelihoods by creating opportunities for individuals to become self-sufficient and economically independent. We recognize that many individuals around the world face barriers to accessing decent work and earning a sustainable income. Therefore, through our livelihood initiatives, we aim to empower individuals and communities to take control of their lives.

Our approach to livelihoods is based on creating sustainable solutions that are tailored to the needs of each community. We work closely with local communities, government officials, and other organizations to design and implement programs that enable individuals to achieve their full potential.

SDFs livelihood initiatives include:

  1. Microfinance: We provide microfinance loans to small business owners and entrepreneurs, enabling them to access funding for their business ventures. By offering lending services, we help to stimulate growth in the private sector, create job opportunities, and promote economic sustainability.
  2. Vocational Training: We offer vocational training programs that equip individuals with skills required to enter the workforce or start their own business. Our training programs cover a wide range of industries, ranging from hospitality and tourism to agriculture and artisanal trades.
  3. Women's Empowerment: We believe in empowering women to become agents of change within their communities. We support women's groups and cooperatives, offering training on entrepreneurship, financial literacy, and other skills required to start a small business. Furthermore, we work to increase women's access to financial services, enabling them to become financially independent.
  4. Sustainable Agriculture: We believe in promoting sustainable agriculture practices that promote self-sufficiency and reduce dependence on external aid. We offer training on sustainable agriculture, organic farming, and livestock management, enabling individuals to produce their food and generate a sustainable income.
  5. Youth Employment: We recognize the challenges that young people face in accessing decent employment opportunities. Therefore, we provide training, mentorship, and other support services that enable them to enter the workforce or start their own business.

SDFs approach to livelihoods is unique, as we work towards creating sustainable solutions that address the root causes of poverty. Rather than providing aid, we empower individuals and communities to create sustainable change through entrepreneurship, skills development, and economic opportunities. This approach enables individuals to become active participants in their own development, leading to lasting solutions and sustainable outcomes.
